jeremy lin #17

my feeble words will not do any justice to what an amazing player and person jeremy lin is. but that's okay because at least i'm being sincere, haha. so, here's my post on jeremy lin :)

ever since linsanity erupted the nba world, i've been so consumed and enthralled over the knicks' roller-coaster season. from losing game after game, to the arrival of jeremy lin's unexpected twist that led to 2 weeks of glorious linning (i mean, winning) 7 games in a row, spiraling down to a 6-game losing streak, and the announcement of coach d'antoni's resignation, they are finally back to a winning streak. boy, it has definitely been a crazy and unpredictable journey, and it has sparked a HUGE interest among millions of people, even those who'd care more for a hot wing than a basketball. i mean, how can you NOT be intrigued by it all?!

i've always liked jeremy lin and kept my eye on him since he first signed with the warriors. i added him on facebook and followed him on twitter since then. and so, it greatly saddened me when i read his posts that he had been waived from the warriors, and then waived from the rockets. i'd tweet him encouraging words and showed my support (though i'm sure he hasn't seen a single one of them among the many tweets he receives from fellow fans... it's too bad, though, since i put so much heart into it, haha). but the funny thing is, in his tweets, he didn't show any sadness or any disappointment. nope, none at all. instead, he did the exact opposite and THANKED the teams for giving him a wonderful opportunity. and he never once failed in mentioning His Almighty. this is just a glimpse of who jeremy lin is. how can you expect me to NOT like him?!

he's incredibly humble, deeply passionate, and infallibly in love for God. he doesn't care to be the star player on his team, but he helps make his team, as a whole, a STAR. he never takes the credit whenever he makes a good play, but always credits his teammates for their plays. though the path to the NBA has been anything but smooth for this 23-year old, from facing racial discrimination to being dropped to the d-league multiple times, he never lost hope and kept his faith and trust in God.

i'm so excited to see what else God has in store for him. his dream is to become a pastor, go on missions, and help the underprivileged children. is he forreal?? yep, he's forreal. and THAT is what i love about him. mad props to you, #17! :)
